Fuel giant Shell is bankrolling its own screen network on gas pumps in the Netherlands, with some 75 stations and 600 screens up and running.
The company also has a trial going in Malaysia. The content is a 90-second loop of 10 second spots for store promotions and customer information.
The network is running BroadSign‘s ad-centric play-out and media targeting platform.
The screens on gas pump thing is not new, but generally it has been third-party ad networks – and not the fuel companies – putting screens in and selling ad time.
