Congratulations to Haroon Mirza (right) and Faizal Javer, the two main front men at CognoVision have been doggedly selling their video audience analytics the last few years and have now, I assume, reaped the benefit of being acquired by tech giant Intel.
The rumor bubbled up the last few days via DailyDOOH (not a lot of people know Adrian is very active in the M&A world as an advisor, so he hears lotsa stuff). TechCrunch picked up the story today and got Intel to confirm.
The deal is thought to be in the range of $17-$25 million.
Intel has been hanging out with CognoVision for a while now and Haroon and Faizal have co-located in the Intel booth at DSE and NRF.
A lot of of money has no doubt gone into building up the suburban Toronto company, but it’s a resoanable guess this is one technology company that has made real money from being in digital signage.
